Laneus | Threads of the Himalayas - A Fusion of Craft

Concept: A unique woolen cap collection celebrating the rich textile heritage of India. This project brings together the vibrant block printing artistry of Nayla, Jaipur, and the time-honoured hand-knitting traditions of Spiti Valley.

Collaboration: Directly involve artisans from both Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh to produce a one-of-a-kind collection. Nayla artisan created stunning block prints on a piece of fine cotton fabric. Spiti Valley artisans contributed their mastery of hand-knitting to craft the base woolen caps.

Design: The collection will showcase an amalgamation of bold block prints: Featuring traditional Nayla block printing motifs reimagined for a contemporary winter wardrobe inspired by the Himalayas. Warm hand-knitted textures: Providing exceptional comfort and embodying the skill of Spiti Valley artisans.

Impact: This project aims to uplift the livelihoods of artisans in Nayla and Spiti Valley. Showcase the beauty and versatility of Indian craft traditions. Create a unique and sustainable fashion collection. Target Audience: This collection may appeal to: Fashion-conscious consumers who appreciate handcrafted goods. Individuals who value ethically sourced clothing. Those seeking statement pieces with a rich cultural story.

Overall, this project celebrates the power of collaboration to create a product that is both beautiful and empowering for Indian artisans.
